Pakistan Medical Association has warned the authorities about the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic due to the reopening of schools. As the educational institutes have been opened from 15th September with the strict SOPs but still there are various institutes where no precautions are being followed that might trigger a second spike of coronavirus in the country. Many schools that were opening in the congested buildings are unable to limit movement and observe caution. The authorities said that the winter has arrived and any careless caused can result in the severe consequences. They furthermore instructed the students to follow the standard operating procedures devised to save themselves. 

Closure of Educational Institutes

Due to an increase in the coronavirus cases up till now, 32 educational institutes have been closed. Moreover, the Punjab education minister has also ordered all the concerned authorizing to ensure the implementation of SOPs in the schools. Previously there were also many rumors regarding the closure of the educational institutes from 15th October but federal education minister, Shafqat Mahmood denied and declared that the educational institutes will remain open. 

COVID-19 Positive Cases Rise to 2%

In the meeting of the national command and operation center (NCOC), the minister for planning and development, Asad Umar also expressed his concerns over the increased number of coronavirus cases as the positivity rate crosses 2%. However, in order to avoid any unfavorable circumstances, the mini lockdown has been imposed in various places.
