Charsadda: More than 50 high and higher secondary schools in Charsadda region are said to have been running without their principals, upsetting their educational and directorial matters.

This confession was made at a meeting of the school officers’ association which was headed by its district president Haji Rahmuddin the other day.

They claimed that the education department comprises of a provincial selection board is on a war footing to promote senior teachers to the post of principals.

They moreover said that the posts of principals in almost 50 high and higher secondary schools for boys and girls in Agra, Hari Chand, Mandani, Shakar Dhand, Dargai, Bubak, Hasanzai, Tetara, Haleemzai Shabqadar, Matta Mughalkhel, Ghazgi and Zuhrab Gul Kalli had been lying unfilled.

The members of school officers’ association said that appointment of permanent principals was important to improve education standard in these schools. They said that on one hand the PTI-led provincial government was making higher claims of education emergency whereas on the other hand most of the schools in the province had no management heads.

The teachers via generally passed resolution demanded of the chief minister and the education department to arrange the provincial selection board to appoint capable senior teachers on merit on the posts of principals for schools.
