Ogra (The oil and gas regulatory authority) is on the verge of dysfunctioning. This harsh decision was taken because the tenure of the Current Chairperson of Ogra Uzma Adil is ending on July 17th. She has been one of the most diverse Chair Person of Ogra and her tenure lasts 4 years.

Chairperson of Ogra

By Profession, Uzma Adil is a Charted Accountant and her tenure in Ogra as chairperson started in 2016. Before joining Ogra she also has been the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in Sui Northern as well.  She is known as the person who can take bold steps. She implemented all the oil rules to OMCs (Oil Marketing companies) in 2016 which was an uphill task. With her bold strategies she was able to increase the storage capacity of oil to 30 days and for diesel up to 70 days.

Oil Price Fluctuation
Despite the case of oil price fluctuation in Pakistan, Uzma Adil was trying her best to maintain the quality of work in Ogra.  Recent despite oil prices have hit this regulatory authority hard and with her gone the quorum of this Authority is incomplete. So, Now Ogra will just dispense day to day activities and will not take part in any regularity duties such as pertaining to terrify or issuance of licenses.

Right now Uzma Adil is facing NAB investigation for her appointment as Chairperson of Ogra and on the approval of the LNG contract. In her defense, she issued a statement which states that her selection was done in transparent manners through competitive criteria.  In the same conference, she confirmed the end of her 4-year tenure at Ogra on 17th July 2020.
