Nigerian University signs MoU with AIOU

The delegation consists of 11 members from Sokoto State University, Nigeria yesterday has visited the Allama Iqbal Open University has signed an agreement for the developing supportive partnership in the field of research as well as the professional development.

This agreement was signed by the Vice Chancellor of Sokoto University Prof. Nuhu O.Yaqub as well as by the vice chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University Prof. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui at the ceremony that was also attended by the academicians from both sides.

The Nigerian delegation consisting of the senior professors admired the efforts of Allama Iqbal Open University of delivering the reasonable and the quality to the big population of the country through distance learning system. The Nigerian side accepted the offer of Dr. Shahid Siddiqui of jointly arranging the international conference on social sciences next year.

Under this MoU, the two universities will develop a framework of collaboration in the zone of science, technology, humanity as well as the capacity development. They would exchange variety of educational programs to promote the knowledge as well as the technical know-how for the advantage of their aspirants.

In the event it was also decided that they will also pay their full attention on holding the research-based study in the zones of common interest. This agreement will also cover the mechanism for exchange of visits by the aspirants and the faculty members to every other university.

The delegation that involved the Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Malami Buba and the Registrar Amina G. Yusuf visited different departments of the University involving the Institute of Educational Technology and Print and Production Unit. They showed keen interest in the Accessibility Centre established at the Central Library for visually aspirants.  

On the arrival, Dr. Shahid Siddiqui informed the delegation on the academic activities of the university as well as the initiatives taken recently for its professional development. The in charge of International association department Zahid Majeed gave the presentation on complete working of the university. Administrator Dr. Muhammad Naeem Qureshi was also present on the event.
