Hyderabad, The Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) has been declared one of the top 400 universities of the world in a survey conducted by an international organization, Quacquarelli Symonds.
According to the university authorities, the MUET has secured 351st position in the list of best universities around the world.
In the category of engineering and technology, the top four universities are Massachusetts Institute, of Technology, USA, (first), Stanford University, USA, (second) University of California, Berkeley, USA (third) and University of Cambridge, UK, (fourth).
The MUET had already been declared second best public sector universities in Pakistan, according to the standards set by the Higher Education Commission, said a university press release.
“The MUET had a challenge set by the HEC to be declared one of the 500 top universities in the world but have secured a place among top 400 universities,” it said. —Bureau
Three universities of Pakistan have been included in the list of top universities of the world. The University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, has secured 281st position and the National University of Science and Technology, Islamabad, 274th.
