Islamabad: Total 1,024 medical graduates with foreign degrees sat in Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) registration exam held on Thursday at Pak-China Center.

All the citizens of Pakistan having foreign medical and dental qualifications required to pass this PMDC National Examination Board examination to practice in the country.

Based on the multiple choice questions, the NEB Step-II exam was conducted by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council with the cooperation of National University of Medical Sciences.

The registrar of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council Dr Azhar Ali Shah told the reporters that the NEB Step-III exam would be organized in July.

He said that the applicants, who passed the NEB Step-II exam, will be permitted to take the Step-III exam.

Furthermore the registrar said that most of the applicants were those, who got medical degrees from China, Russia, Central Asian States as well as Cuba.

He furthermore added that transparency as well as fairness in the NEB exam was the main topic of the PMDC along with an objective to contribute to the efforts being made to improve the health system in the country. 

Dr Azhar said that all possible measures had been taken in consultation along with the shareholders.
