The government of the Punjab has started need-based scholarship scheme for the deserving students from minorities living crosswise the province in different classes of education.

The official authorities said that Punjab department for Minorities Affairs as well as Human Rights Punjab has unveiled this scheme along with the beginning amount of Rs 20 million. Under this scheme, the minority students getting education in government institutions from matric to post-graduate level, involving the professional degrees of medical and engineering would be eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Khalil Tahir Sindhu, Punjab Minister for Minorities Affairs and Human Rights Punjab said that the aspirants in 36 districts of the province can get the funding under this scheme in their respective educational class from Rs 15,000 to 50,000.   The male and female aspirants of PhD, Pharm-D, MBBS, DVM, BDS, and BSc Engineering can get the award of Rs 50,000 yearly whereas post graduate level aspirants comprising of MPhil etc will be able to get Rs 35,000 yearly.

Likewise, the scholarship grant for the matric aspirants is Rs 15000 whereas for the intermediate level students will be granted along with Rs 20,000 while the graduation aspirants will get Rs 30,000.The Minority Affairs department has sought applications from the applicants plus the last date of submission is 31st December 2015.
