LUMS Students Win Biophysics Symposium Poster Competition

Lahore, LUMS School of Science and Engineering (SSE) Biology students, Hina Iftikhar and Annum Munir earned 2nd and 4th position respectively at a poster competition which was organized by the NED University Karachi at the 1st International Biophysics Competition on June 1st and 2nd, 2012.

Four SSE students participated in the competition including Saman Hussain and Zainab Rahil. As many as 200 students contributed in the event, represented numerous important institutes. A few with international associations including Universiti Sains Malaysia, University of Malaya-Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, SIUT (Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation), Agha Khan University, Jinnah Medical & Dental College, University of Karachi, Quaid-e-Azam University, Jamshoru University, NED university and others also participated.

The event was a two day conference and many famous national and international gusts addressed on the event. Amongst the two poster categories, LUMS students qualified for the “Guided Student- Scholar Tier Posters”. The competition was a tough one since LUMS undergraduate students were contesting with graduate students. Cash prizes were given to winners.
