Lahore, LUMS Mathematics department is organizing a PhD Mathematics information session for prospective students, parents, faculty of college/university, student counselors and programme coordinators at Karachi University on Saturday, 6th March, 2010 from 11:00 am till 1:00 pm.
The session will include a detailed presentation on the PhD Mathematics programme offered at LUMS along with a talk on the “Scope of PhD in interdisciplinary Mathematics in 21st Century” by Dr. Faqir Bhatti, an Associate Professor at LUMS.
Dr. Faqir Bhatti has received a PhD in Applied Mathematics from University of London, England. Dr. Bhatti is currently a permanent faculty member at LUMS and has taught at Multimedia University Malaysia, University of Brunei Darussalam Brunei, Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur and University of Baluchistan Quetta.
Dr. Bhatti is the Editor in Chief for the Journal of Prime Research in Mathematics. In addition, Dr Bhatti has organized 12 conferences in Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei, Australia and Pakistan. He is also a member of various International Scientific societies which include London Mathematical Society and European Mathematics Society.
