Lahore, LUMS on Friday invited Dr Ali Qazilbash to voice at a conference on criminal justice, titled ‘The Criminal Justice System: Towards a Systematic Approach-Perspectives from Asia and the Pacific’. The conference was organised by the Hamdard School of Law, Karachi.
Dr Qazilbash delivered a dialogue on legal education and culture in Pakistan and emphasized the existence of two differentiated educational systems for different economic classes in Pakistan. In his demonstration, he explained how the Law and Policy Department at LUMS is bridging the rift between theory and practice.
He claimed for a reassessment of the legal curriculum in order to bring the bar and bench in Pakistan at same level with international standards. Dr Qazilbash has arranged for three internships for three months with the Advocate General of Punjab office which is a constitutional office that deals with all the cases by and against the Punjab government.
