LUMS Center for Entrepreneurship awarded UKAID funding to increase growth of educational projects

Lahore: Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) entrepreneurship center has been granted an award by UKAID to promote education and startups working in that zone. This agreement has been signed along with Mott MacDonald Ltd.

The grant comes through UK Aid’s plan “Ilm Ideas 2 Education Innovation Fund” which is all about the promotion of education, and revolution to enhance the disappointing figures relation to education zone in Pakistan.

Pakistan has the large number of out of school children. There are over 25 million children who don’t have access to education in the state. Along with this innovative grant LUMS Center for Entrepreneurship, will lookout for startups working on education zone, or constructing innovative stuffs for education.

This agreement was signed by the Vice Chancellor of LUMS University, Dr. Syed Sohail Naqvi on behalf of LUMS Center for Entrepreneurship, and by the Team Lead of the Ilm Ideas 2 Education Innovation Fund, Shahida Saleem on behalf of Mott MacDonald Ltd.

Keeping in view the requirement as well as importance of such intercessions in the education zone of Pakistan, Dr. Sohail Naqvi stated:

“We are very happy to play an impressive role in identifying as well as in supporting such disruptors and expected that LUMS can continue to do so away from the life of this programme”.

Shahida Saleem acknowledged LUMS on playing an impressive role in the promotion of entrepreneurship as well as innovation through its Center for Entrepreneurship.

LUMS will soon be welcoming reformers in the education sector to address the challenges acknowledged by the program, arena solutions that address these challenges as well as obtain support and funding via LUMS Center for Private enterprise platform.
