Pakistan government has announced to ease up the lockdown from Saturday. This decision was taken under the supervision of Prime Minister Imran khan when he chaired a meeting with NCC (National Coordinate committee) on Thursday.

Current Situation of COVID-19 in Pakistan

Corona Pandemic in Pakistan was started at the mid of February. Till than over 24,000 cases of COVID-19 has been reported all over the country and over 600 deaths. Just last Tuesday over 1300 new cases of Corona Virus were reported in Pakistan.

Now, keeping all of these numbers in mind the situation of COVID-19 is getting worse. But Imran Khan has announced to ease up the lockdown from this Saturday in his last meeting with NCC.

What was Discussed in the NCC MEETING?

In this meeting, the SOP was decided under which the lockdown is going to be eased. According to a source, the SOP was sent to the provincial government after the meeting. Where in Punjab the corporate sector is going to be open from 9 am to 4 pm and then 8 pm to 12 am. In Sindh, all corporate sectors are going to be closed until 5 pm.

Another SOP was sensed to all provincial governments. In this SOP the federal government suggested opening local transport including inter flights, trains, and buses. All provincial governments opposed to resuming the local transportation within the country. According to the provincial government, they cannot take this risk.

Big Decisions for the Education Sector

On the other hand, the education sector is further closed until 15 July. This was declared by Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood while he was doing a press conference. He also declared that all board examination throughout the country is canceled.

Students who were about to take part in this year’s board exams are automatically promoted to the next classes on the basis of the previous results.

All the students will be able to enroll themselves as soon as the education sectors will get reopened.

Contradiction Among these Statements

On one side the government is declaring to ease up the lockdown from Monday. On the other hand, the provincial education minister has canceled all board exams. According to Imran Khan, the situation of COVID 19 is under control and that’s why the government cannot let poor people suffer.

If the situation of COVID-19 is under control why the education sector is still on lockdown till 15th July. Moreover why all board exams are being suspended. Both of these decisions oppose each other completely. This is confusing people that do they have to fear this navel disease or considered it under control.
