Lahore: The judge of Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Shahid Kareem ordered the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to verify the degrees that are issued to aspirants by Lancaster University.

The court announced this decision on the application filed by over 100 students of COMSATS University. LHC ordered to verify the second degree of the aspirants who paid fees for the dual-degree programme.

The askers were of the view that they paid fess for the dual degree of COMSATS and Lancaster University; hence they must get degrees of both the universities. The honorable judge ordered the commissions to verify the dual degrees of both the universities.

The court ordered the HEC as well as Pakistan Engineering Council to give approval as well as to verify the degrees of 2800 students that are issued by COMSATS Institute of Information and Technology.

Before this Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had also asked the concerned authorities to address this matter however the authorities do not paid any attention on it.

On the occasion, the as well as their parents said that they faced mental stress, adding that after the decision of the court, the HEC chairman should resign from his post.
