KU opens admissions in PGD in Food Safety and Controls

Karachi, University of Karachi, Department of Food Science and Technology has announced admissions in One year Post Graduate Diploma 2014 in Food Safety and Controls.

The program is internationally recognized One Year (Two Semesters) Postgraduate Diploma supported by the European Union funded Trade Related Technical Assistance (TRTA-II) Programme, accredited by Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) and implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in association with International Trade Centre (ITC) and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

After getting degree candidate will be able to find career opportunities in Food Safety Officers and Food Inspectors in National Food Safety Standards and Inspection Services, Food Sanitation and Hygiene Expert in Food Industry, Restaurants, Hotels and Flight Kitchens, QC and QA Managers in R&D Departments of Food Industries, Consultants for Food Industries approaching for ISO and other Certifications, Internal Auditors in Food Processing Industries, Lead Auditor in Food Certification, Auditing and Training Organizations.

Interested candidates are eligible if they have at least Sixteen (16) Years of Studies (M.Sc., 4-Year B.S. or its Equivalent Qualification) in Pure & Applied Sciences from a Recognized University. Admission will be granted on the basis of Entry Test/Interview to be conducted by the Department of Food Sciences & Technology in accordance with the Instructions given in the Admission Prospectus.

Collection and Submission of Application Forms along with Processing Fee will be continue from March 24 to 28 and Display of List of Eligible Candidates for Entry Test on UoK Website & Department Notice Board on March 31, 2014.

Entry Test of the Candidates will be held on April 01 and display of List of Successful Candidates on UoK Website & Department Notice Board will be displayed on April 03 while the interview of the Short Listed Candidates at the Department of Food Science & Technology will be organized on April 07 and Display of Final List of Successful Candidates on UoK Website & Department Notice Board will be made on April 08, 2014.

The Tuition Fee is Rs. 30,000/- Per Semster. The Prospectus and Entry Test Form may be downloaded FREE from the University Website (www.uok.edu.pk) or obtained against a Payment of Rs. 500/= from the Office of the Department. Completed Application Form along with the required Documents and Processing Fee of Rs. 1,500/- (Pay Order) in favour of PGD-Food Safety and Controls may be submitted in the Department on or before March 28, 2014. Incomplete and Late Applications will NOT be entertained.
