KPK government consciously thinking to contain the spread of the second wave of Coronavirus. Because of this reason the government considers starting early winter vacations in the schools. The meeting at the provincial level under the supervision of Chief Minister Mahmood Khan was held in KPK during which the option of early winter vacations was discussed. 

Official personnel including Taimur Saleem Jhagra (Provincial Minister), Kamran Bangash (Special Assistant to CM on Information and Higher Education), Noman Mahmood (Corps Commander Peshawar-Lt Gen), Kazim Niaz (Chief Secretary), and Sanaullah Abbasi (Inspector General of Police) were the main participants of this meeting. 

The Final Remarks Of This Meeting 

During the meeting, all the participants viewed and discussed the latest coronavirus situation throughout the province. However, the preparation, arrangements, and other emergency precautions, to contain the spread of the pandemic, were also discussed during the meeting. It was concluded that the second wave has started throughout the province and the positive cases are also reported in upper and lower Chitral districts as well as in some parts of the Hazara Division. It has also been reported by some participants that the cases are also reported from the provincial educational institutes. After taking the whole of the discussion and suggestions from all the participants it was decided to announce early winter vacations in the province.   

Other Suggestions to Control The Corona Second Wave

Besides announcing early winter vacations suggestion, the participants of the meeting also discussed some other matters to control the spread of the virus. For example, in the light of the National Command and Operation Centre’s decision, it is decided to ensure the strict implementations of the Corona SOPs throughout the province. It was also decided that the closure of parks will be implemented at 06:00 PM. However, the closure of wedding halls, restaurants, and other markets will be strictly implemented at 10:00 PM. However, health officials also suggest taking the necessary steps to ensure the availability of the testing kits and personal protective equipment in all the provincial hospitals to prepare against the second wave of the pandemic.
