Karachi, Karachi University has announced that university will award the Gold Medals to students who have earned first position in the Master/B.S./Honors in their department in the final examinations 2011 under the Evening Program. Students can submit registration form till Jan 18, 2013.

The Annual Convocation 2012 of the University of Karachi will be organized on January 30, according to the officials.

Candidates who have got first position in Master / B.S. / Honors Program in their department are advised to submit their Convocation Registration form (with prescribed fees) and for Gold Medal Forms candidates can contact D.R. (A) Office, first floor, Administration Building, University of Karachi and complete the requirements of Registration. Further information can be seen at the university website www.uok.edu.pk.

Students will get degrees who have obtained their M. S/ M.D./ M. Phil/ Ph. D./ D. Litt./ D. Sc. in 2011& onwards. Medals and Merit Certificates shall be awarded to the position holders of various Departments.

Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif has distributed 1902 laptops among students of Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), Lahore. LCWU students cheered and chanted slogans while ceremony was held in the university auditorium. CM was given a very warm welcome by the students of Lahore College.

Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif was the chief guest to give away 1902 laptops among BS and MS students of LCWU. Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Minister Higher Education Zaeem Qadri, Deputy Speaker Rana Mashood Ahmad, Special Assistant to CM Zakia Shahnawaz, Secretary Higher Eduation Ejaz Munir, Deans and faculty members attended the event.

LCWU Vice Chancellor Dr Sabia Mansoor said that she feels great pleasure over the fact that Maryam Nawaz had been a student of Lahore College. She further said that there are seven thousands students in BS and MS programs. Among them more than 6500 students have won the laptop in two phases which shows the excellent standard of education of this only women university in the provincial capital.

The initiative taken by Chief Minister Punjab to promote the education and technology in the province are appreciable. For the development in information technology, Laptop distribution has a great value. Maryam Nawaz Sharif is old student of LCWU and she is role model and a message for our students that they should come forward to play their role in national development. It is the vision of LCWU to empower women through education.

Vice Chancellor thanked Chief Minister for donation of Laptops and highlighted that it is the first time that Chief Minister has ordered to enlist special students to get laptops.
