The 2-year Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree programs abolished from the private and government sector colleges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Higher education department states that now the aspirants will only be permitted to enroll in a 4-year BS program.

HED Stops BA, BSC Admissions in KPK Colleges

As per the details, upon the directions of Higher Education Department, the 2 years BA and BSC programs have been abolished in the colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In this regard, the Department has sent a letter to all the colleges of KPK.


HED Issues Notification To Terminate 2 Years Bachelor’s Degree Programs

The notification issued by Education department states that the new admissions should be made in BS program. It further added that 4 years BS program has been started in 128 colleges across the province while the 2 years BA and BSc has been terminated in all these BS colleges.

Now the aspirants will only be able to get admissions in 4-years BS program while the colleges are directed to stop granting the admissions in 2 years Bachelors programs. 

Punjab Education Department Abolished 2-Years Bachelors Program in Colleges Across Punjab

It is also important to mention here that Higher Education Commission had decided to end the BA, BSc programs by the year 2020. Moreover, last year the Punjab Education Department had decided to terminate 2-years BA and B.Sc degree programs and while issuing the notification, the department directed the educational institutions to introduce a new and modern 2 years associate degree in place of BA and BSc.

In the associate degree students will be allowed to choose specialized subjects instead of general subjects and under this students will have to undergo practical training to obtain marks.
