Islamabad: Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) has introduced numerous programs for faculty development of the government sector universities.
The official of higher education commission informed that these programs include the training and provision of local as well as overseas scholarships to the aspirants under various fellowship programmes.

Over Rs24 billion have been spent on the completely launched "Faculty Development Program" this year.
This programme is targeted to provide financial support to the current faculty members of the universities to chase their PhD courses.
A 2-month master-trainers faculty professional development programme as well as the national research program for universities is also among the other development programmes.

Higher Education Commission has also launched the advanced varsity governance programme which is targeted to arm the management of Higher Education institutes along with the modern governance skills.
