HEC offering international scholarships for PhD studies

Lahore: Higher education commission is inviting the applications from the candidates of government sector universities for Faculty development programme (FDP) international scholarships for PhD level.

Eligibility Criteria:

The candidates fulfilling the given eligibility criteria are eligible to apply for these scholarships.

The candidates must:

Be a resident of Pakistan/AJK, as specified against university

Have minimum 18 years of education with MS/Mphil or equivalent degree for PhD admissions in the related field.

Have a 1^st division (in annual exams system) or CGPA 3.0 out of 4.0 and 4.0 out of 5.0 in the final degree programs.

Have maximum two 2^nd divisions while no 3^rd division in the entire academic career.

Maximum age on the deadline

o   40 years for full time / regular employees of university / R&D organizations

o   35 years for all others

Obtain minimum 50 marks in HEC Aptitude Test (HAT)

Must get required qualification on or before the deadline i-e December 20^th, 2017

ð  The candidates who are availing any other scholarships are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.

The aspirants from the following government sector universities are eligible to apply for the scholarships.

1.       AJK Women University, Bagh

2.       Balochistan University of Engineering and Technology, Khuzdar (Balochistan Only)

3.       Ghazi Unievrsity, Dera Ghazi Khan

4.       FATA University

5.       Khushhal Khan University, Karak

6.       Lahore College for Women University, Lahore

7.       National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad

8.       Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University, Quetta (Balochistan Only)

9.       Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Benazirabad

10.   Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University, Larkana

11.   University of Baltistan, Skardu

12.   University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore (Punjab Only)

13.   University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar-New campus at Jalzoi (KPK/FATA/ PATA only)

14.   University of Malakand (KPK/FATA/PATA only)

15.   University of Swabi

16.   University of swat main campus and women sub campus at Mingora

17.   Women University, Multan

Note:

o   These scholarships will be granted to the students in particular disciplines for every part taking university. Though, the university wise list of academic fields is available at the official website of higher education commission.  

o   If the scholarship in a specific subject is being offered in multiple universities, a candidate might select three universities at the most.

o   HEC Aptitude Test (HAT) would be conducted by HEC for eligible candidates.

Test Type: Discipline

ð  HAT 1: Engineering, IT

ð  HAT 2: Management Sciences, Business Education

ð  HAT 3: Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities

ð  HAT 4: Agriculture & Veterinary Sciences, Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences

o   The merit lists will be prepared on the basis of online data / information given by the applicant. In any case the information is found to be wrong at any level, the application procedure would be terminated.

o   The applicants will have to get admission in the international universities / states with whom higher education commission has signed the agreement.

o   Higher education commission will have the right to allocate any state / international institute to the candidate for the purpose of PhD studies.

o   The scholarship receiver will have to sign an agreement along with higher education commission and the respective university to serve the same university for 5 years after the completion of studies.

Deadline:

Interested candidates can submit their application forms till December 04^th, 2017.

How to apply?

o   The candidates can submit their online application forms through higher education commission web portal i-e “eportal.hec.gov.pk/ofdp”

o   The original online deposit slip or the ATM transfer slip of Rs 500/- (non-refundable) as application processing fee in favor of DG Finance. The higher education commission must be uploaded on the online web portal of HEC.

o   Candidate can also deposit their fee in acct no 1742-79001334-01. Habib Bank Limited through any bank.
