HEC Extends Deadline For Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship Program

The Higher Education Commission has extended the deadline for Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship Program. According to the announcement made by the commission the date has been extended till 31st December 2021. Earlier the last date to apply for the scholarship was 30th November 2021. The decision has been taken to facilitate the maximum number of students so that they can apply for this scholarship program. The main purpose of the scholarship is to support undergraduate level students who are unable to pursue higher education after the completion of the intermediate due to limited financial resources. The Ehsas Undergraduate Scholarship Project is aimed to support the 4-5year undergraduate programs, which contributes the most to the income of the individual who completes the bachelor’s degree. The program provides 50,000 undergraduate scholarships and in the next four to five years these scholarships will be increased to around 200,000.

Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship

This scholarship covers university tuition fees and stipend throughout four-five years of degree duration and enables the students to get an education in various fields such as agriculture, arts and humanities, engineering, medical, physical sciences, business education, and social sciences. To support female education the 50% of scholarships are reserved for female students. Scholarships are offered for the newly admitted students of the Fall 2021 session in HEC recognized public sector universities. The candidates fulfilling the criteria of need have to provide the authentic information required under the Project's policy. The candidates can secure the admissions on merit only as they are required to fulfill the admission criteria of the institution in which he/she intends to study.

Applying Procedure

• The candidates have to submit a copy of CNIC / B. Form, Copy of CNIC (Father, Mother/ Guardian), Salary Slip of Father/Guardian, Mother), in case the father is Labourer on daily-wage/shopkeeper / private job, then the candidate must attach undertaking of Income Certificate of stamp paper of Rs. 50/-, Copies of last Six Month Utility Bills.Copy of Rent agreement in case of Rented House, Copies of Last Fee Receipts of Applicant and Siblings, Copies of Medical bills and related documents.  01  Photograph of Applicant and 01 Picture of House from outside Front.  

• The candidates are instructed to submit the hard copy of the application form along with the supporting documents to the Student Financial Aid Office of the university only.

• The candidates have to apply through HEC online system and submit the application form. The application forms in the "Saved" mode will not be acceptable by the commission.

• The candidates have to attach the list of supporting documents that are specified by the commission for the processing of the application form.

• The Scrutiny Committee of the university will shortlist all candidates after determining their eligibility criteria, based on the information provided in their application forms. The candidates have to provide all the information sought for under the rules such as proof of family income, assets, past academic record, age (where appropriate), etc.

• The incomplete application form in any respect will be rejected by the HEC.

• The Institutional Scholarship Award Committee of the universities will interview/ recommend eligible and potential applicants to award the scholarship.

• Scholarship awardees have to sign a deed of agreement on stamp paper.

• The Financial Aid Office of the university will issue the Final Scholarship Award Letter to the selected candidates.

• The awarded scholarship is not transferable to any other university/ academic program/ academic session in any case.

• Scholarship funding will continue for the next semester/ year subject to the satisfactory academic performance of the students.
