Lahore: Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan has approved 12 research projects worth Rs 39.5 million presented by different faculty members of University of the Punjab for the first time.

For this purpose, a meeting was arranged by Punjab University Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization at committee room of the VC’s office.

This meeting was headed by the Vice Chancellor of University of the Punjab Prof Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir in which the Director ORIC Prof Dr Tahir Jamil, Principal of Punjab University College of Information Technology Prof Dr Mansoor Sarwar, Director Institute of Chemistry Prof Dr Makshoof Athar, the chairperson of department of Political Prof Dr Umbreen Javed, Acting Director School of Biological Sciences Dr Naeem Rashid as well as the senior faculty members were also present.

The vice chancellor of University of the Punjab Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir look over the projects accepted by the Higher Education commission in the faculties of behavioral and social sciences, science, life sciences as well as pharmacy.

VC of Punjab University appreciated the efforts of faculty and said that the university management had the vision to promote research culture in the university and was making all-out efforts for this purpose.

He claimed that the management will encourage all faculty members who were doing research.
