‘Govt committed to promote the education in Pakistan’

Recently, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) and American Institute of Pakistan Studies (AIPS) to promote the collaboration among higher education sector of Punjab as well as 35 US higher educational institutes.

Chairperson of PHEC Prof Dr Muhammad Nizamuddin as well as the member executive board AIPS Dr Farhat Haq signed the MoU whereas the Punjab Minister for Education, Culture and Youth Affairs, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan was present as the chief guest of that event. While conversing to the spectators of the event, Rana Mashhood said that the government was committed to promote the higher education in Punjab, adding PHEC had been authorized to bring higher education institutions of Punjab at equivalence along with the international standards.

Dr Muhammad Nizamuddin said that the focus of cooperation along with the US academia would be on enlightening the community colleges, skill development education, faculty training, as well as the placement of selected scholars and also establishment of Academies of Professional Development by PHEC in Punjab. He furthermore said that, both the two organizations would work more proficiently and excellently to offer the amplified services to the universities of Punjab. Though, while sharing the salient features of cooperation Director, AIPS, Nadeem Akbar informed that AIPS in collaboration along with the PHEC will arrange the training workshops in the zone of community colleges where AIPS will invite remarkable US Community College Administrators.
