Lahore: Government as well as Private sector schools in Punjab have reopened today across Punjab after two and a half months long summer vacations.
However, according to the reports, attendance on the first day of school after vacations is dismal.
The Punjab government had announced the summer holidays starting from June 1st, 2016.
At first, the government had announced holidays from May 24 owing to boiling temperatures. It was decided in a meeting presided over by Education Minister Rana Mashood though, the final decision of the government was June 1st.

The Education Minister had said that the government will not compromise over health of pupils however the schools that were holdings exams were permitted to carry on with their schedules.
The government had also alerted of earlier closure in case the temperature rose further but, that was not the case.
Schools have opened in Punjab on the next day of Independence Day celebrations.
