Government Medical Colleges of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJ&K) and Reserved Seats of MBBS & BDS for AJ&K Nationals in Pakistan, Session 2019-2020

Applicants, the nationals of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and refugees, are invited to apply for admission in MBBS and BDS for 2019-2020 session in Public sector medical and dental colleges of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and other provinces of Pakistan on basis of reserved seats.

Applicants are to inform that the selections will be final on the bases of merit provided through the policy of Azad Jammu & Kashmir medical and dental colleges and PM&DC admission regulations.

Following is the list of the public sector medical and dental colleges, located throughout Pakistan, offering admission to AJ&K nationals and refugees on the basis of reserved seats.

Who is Eligible To Apply for Admission?

In order to be eligible for admission in AJ&K medical colleges and medical and dental colleges throughout Pakistan, applicants are required to meet the below-given requirements:

Qualification Score: Pakistan medical and dental council PM&DC has amended the admission regulation process for MBBS and BDS study programs on May 30^th, 2019.

According to this amendment, applicants have to obtain at least 70% marks (770 out of 1100) in order to be eligible for admission in MBBS and BDS study programs.

Admission Test Score: The University of Health Science, UHS Lahore has conducted the admission test, MDCAT for the willing candidates on September 15^th, 2019. Applicants who have obtained at least 60% marks (120 out of 200) are eligible to apply for admission.

District Quota/Refugee: Applicants who claim themselves as nationals or refugees of AJ&K are required to show their permanent residence card, CNIC, domicile or refugee card.  

Disabled Quota: Applicants with the title of AJ&K nationals are also allowed to apply under the disabled quota or for the reserved seats for disabled candidates. 

Doctors’ Children Quota: Applicants with the title of AJ&K nationals are also allowed to apply under the quota of doctors’ children. For this purpose, applicants are asked to show the employment certificates of parents with at least 10 years of services in medical field as doctor.

Special Quota: Special seats or quota is also reserved for the candidates belong to District Neelum & Leepa Valley. Applicants with the status of special quota are offering admission in Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad. Candidates, in order to be eligible for this status, are asked to submit their HSSC or FSC certificate from an institute from the District Neelum & Leepa Valley.

Self-Finance & Overseas Quota:  Applicants are also offered with self-finance seats or quota and the self-finance category is only eligible for the candidates who want to apply for admission in medical colleges of AJ&K.   

Students with the status of overseas applicants can also apply under the status of reserved seats. Applicants are required to give proof of 2^nd nationality and applicants are also asked to pass the Sat II or state entry test which is the requirement by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, PM&DC.

BDS Reserved Seats/Quota: Applicants with 1^st Class State Subjects from 10 Districts of AJ&K are allowed to apply for the available seats in the BDS program in dental institutes of Pakistan. Applicants with Refugees-1947 and Refugees-1989 status are not considered for this quota. 

What is the Admission Process?

In order to apply a safe application, applicants are offered with a complete processing schedule:

1.       Online Application Process

1. The mood of application is online and there is no manual or paper-based application that will be considered.
2. Applicants are required to log in for an online application.
3. Applicants then complete their profile and they are also be asked to submit their scanned documents including photographs, signatures and left thumb impressions (LTI).   
4. Candidates are not allowed to give their preference at this point and they will be asked for preference once the provisional list will be displayed. 
5. Applicants are suggested at this point to submit their application carefully. In case you find any fault in your application you are allowed to re-upload or resubmit your application.
6. Once, you will click on the save file or submit the file then you won’t be able to edit your application.   
7. Applicants then get a print of the application and on this application applicants will also find the challan form of bank.
8. Candidates are to inform that they can apply for more than one category e.g., District, Overseas, Self-finance, etc. if they are eligible for more than one category.
9. Applicants who are claimed for Hafiz E Quaran marks are asked to tick on the column where the category design. Similarly, applicants with disability status will mark on the category of disability.     

2.       Biometric Verification

1. Applicants are required to visit in bank in-person to complete the biometric verification process. Applicants can visit the nearest branch of the Bank of Punjab. Applicants are required to show nationality through valid documents i.e. ID card, passport, etc.   
2. Applicants who are currently residing abroad are asked to visit for biometric verification process.

Applicants after completing their verification process will be required to submit the bank verification and processing fee, the amount of which is Rs. 195/- and university admission processing fee, the amount of which is Rs. 500/- for a single category. Applicants are clearly to notify that both of the fees is nonrefundable.

3.       Provisional Aggregate Merit List Display

1. A category wise provisional merit list will be displayed on the university’s official website after the completion of the online application process.  
2. The list may be checked by The Chairman Regional Admission Committee, AJ&K in order to avoid any error.
3. Applicants with an error in their application will be required to submit a written representation within 48 hours against any error found in their application. Applicants will be required to give documentary proof against an error in the application otherwise the application will not be considered.

4.       College Preference Submission 

1. After displaying provisional merit list the online admission portal will open again and applicants will be required to log in again for college preference. Applicants will are required to submit or choose up to five colleges in preference.
2. Once you will give the preference of college then you won’t be able to edit your application. So, before going to click on save and submit button make sure that you are have applied the right information on your application.

5.       Display of Selection List  

1. On merit base, the university prepares the selection list according to college-wise and category-wise selection.
2. Applicants are considered for all the three colleges given by them on priority. If candidates won’t able to secure the name in the final list of all the three preferred colleges then they will be offered with the least number of seats left. Otherwise, students won’t be offered admission.
3. If applicants will have any complaint against the final selection list, they will be able to send a writing complaint within 48 hours after the display of the final list.       

6.       Selection and Joining Procedure

1. Applicants will be confirmed their enrollment in a medical college through SMS and email.
2. Applicants will be required to submit the college tuition fee within the due date
3. Applicants who are applying for any quota and they will secure the name in an open merit list then they won’t be required to apply in any other quota category.
4. Applicants, whose parents are temporarily living in any province with the permanent residence status of any district of AJ&K, will be considered against district quota.
5. Applicants (of AJ&K State Subject) who will be able to secure the seat in open merit list of any public sector medical college of Pakistan will not be eligible for AJ&K reserved seat.

7.       Upgradation Process

1. Applicants who want to go through the up-gradation process can upgrade to the colleges which he marked in the preference category. 
2. Mutual application for up-gradation as well as down-gradation is not allowable in any condition.

8.       Hifz-E-Quran Test

1. Applicants who claim for Hifz-E-Quran marks will be called to appear for the test.
2. Applicants will be provided with the complete schedule of test before going to appear for test.

9.       Disability Board

1. At Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayad Al-Nahyan Hospital, CMH Muzaffarabad the disability board will be held. Applicants will be provided with the date of the disability board before going to appear.
2. Applicants with the status of Refugees 1947 and Refugees-1989 are not allowed to appear for the disability board.
3. The final decisions of Disability Board could be done by the Secretary Health within five (05) working days. Note that applicants won’t allow making an appeal against the disability board.
