Frontline Health Workers: 4787 Tested Positive of COVID-19 Across Pakistan

During the last 24 hours, Coronavirus has continued to take a charge on healthcare workers as 116 of them tested positive for COVID-19 across the country.

The National Institute of Health (NIH) Islamabad prepared a report that showed that the overall 4,787 health workers affected by the virus so far in Pakistan. The report also conveyed to the Ministry of National Health Services.

The report showed that the affectees of the virus include 80 doctors, 11 nurses, and 25 paramedics, within the past 24-hours.2910 doctors have so far, if further highlighting the number of frontline health workers affected by the infection, were tested positive for COVID-19, followed by 1300 other health workers, and 577 nurses.

“Presently, about 2500 health workers are at their homes (quarantined themselves), whereas at country-wide hospitals 321 are receiving treatment and of the 321 are in a stable condition,” the report showed.

1918 healthcare workers who were coronavirus-positive, have recovered so far. While 48 have died of the fatal infection so far. During the last 24 hours including two of them have breathed their last due to COVID-19.

It is ad rem to mention here that the tally of coronavirus cases, countrywide, has jumped to 184,665. Over the past 24 hours, 3698 new infections were detected in Pakistan, while 70 more people surrendered to the deadly disease.

The 69,536 cases in Punjab so far have been detected, in Sindh 72,656 cases, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 23,388 cases, 9,634 in Balochistan, in Islamabad 11,483, Azad Jammu and Kashmir have 892 and 1,337 cases have been reported in Gilgit Baltistan up till now.
