Peshawar: The process of distribution of free textbooks to the Government schools in Peshawar has been successfully completed.
The delivery of free textbooks to the schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the academic year 2016-17 was a big challenge because for the first time since 1971, the textbooks have been printed through competitive processes in accordance along with KPPPRA Rules rather than Quota / Allocation system. On the one hand, the new system has brought transparency whereas on the other hand it has enhanced the quality of textbooks.

The bidding system has permitted the Board to provide quality books more cautiously as coampred to the previous academic year. A particular section of the printers boycotted the procedure of open tendering and asserted on allocation system.
