Lahore: Almost 10 students of occupied Kashmir will be able to get free education as well as accommodation at University of the Punjab.

The Vice Chancellor of Punjab University Mujahid Kamran has announced that the students will be given the opportunity from the new academic session starting in September-October 2017.

Curfew in occupied Kashmir has been in place for over 2 months.

The suppression has destroyed the routine life in the valley as a result of which education process in schools, colleges as well as in universities has been affected badly.

The territory is under siege and violence since July 8, 2016 after the extra-judicial murder of the top commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, Burhan Wani, by Indian Army.

Over 100 people have died and thousands injured by the Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.
