Four day media workshop at ICS, Punjab University

Lahore, Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) University of the Punjab Lahore held a four-day media workshop by the collaboration of Unified Media Club (UMC). On this occasion, spokesperson Punjab government Senator Pervez Rashid said that debate culture is ending from the educational institutions from the dictatorship’s period of Zia-ul-Haq. So, just because of that, we are facing many problems in the field of academic development. Senator said that we dire need to promote this thing in the academic institutes. Media persons and politicians should promote courage to listen to each others’ views. Dean of Social Sciences Prof Dr Muhammad Hafeez said that everyone should play his role for the betterment of the society. He told to the students that out of 1600 think tanks of the world, 1300 think tanks are working for the USA. So, our government should formulate its policies from the universities’ researchers.

In the end of the ceremony, Unified Media Club President Muhammad Hassan said that UMC try to provide a platform to media students for their training to perform their abilities. In this workshop, students of Punjab University ICS, Lahore College for Women University, Kinnaird College, UMT, FCC University and other journalists participated.
