LAHORE, A special division bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday again directed the Punjab advocate general to produce minutes of a meeting which had decided to affiliate Fatima Jinnah Medical College to the University of Health Sciences instead of the Punjab University.
The bench headed by Chief Justice Khwaja Muhammad Sharif also sought minutes of another meeting wherein FJMC was earlier exempted from affiliation to UHS.The bench adjourned further hearing of the suo motu case till May 11 as adjournment was sought on behalf of UHS counsel.
In this case, the bench has already suspended a notification of the provincial government which affiliated FJMC to UHS in place of the Punjab University.
The notification was suspended as students of the college had been waiting to appear in supplementary examination as UHS and PU were not ready to hold the exam on a plea that the matter of college’s affiliation was sub judice.
After suspending the impugned notification dated Nov 26, 2009, the bench had allowed PU to conduct the supplementary examinations.
