Five Medical Universities Request Sindh High Court To Ban Pakistan Medical Commission

After the abolition of PMDC the decision to conduct the medical entrance exam is still not confirmed. The ongoing war of PMC and PMDC has raised concerns over the admission test of MBBS and BDS. The vice-chancellors of the five medical universities have requested the Sindh High Court to ban the Pakistan medical commission. They have signed the petition that entrance test for admission in MBBS and BDS should not be held at the national level. The VCs of the Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Peoples University Nawabshah, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto University Larkana, Liaquat University of Health and Medical Sciences Jamshoro have moved their applications to the court. 

Uncertainty Over National MDCAT

The VC of Peoples University, Dr.Gulshan Ali Memon said that they are seeking the permission of the court to allow them to continue with their admission in the public/private medical colleges in Sindh. Now the uncertainty prevails among the students that which authority (PMC/PMDC) will conduct the entrance test. According to the sources, the Sindh government has rejected the admission policy announced by PMC and declared to opt their devised policy for the medical and dental colleges. 

Proclamation of Dr. Azra Pechuho

Dr. Azra Pechuho, Sindh health minister has written a letter to Dr. Faisal Sultan, the special assistant to PM on health last week. She stated that after consultation with the VCs of all medical universities in the Sindh, the government has decided not to accept the changes made in the admission policy to join the medical field. According to her, this will create a disturbance and the students will suffer. The students are still waiting for the final announcement from the concerned authorities. However, it is informed to the students that the national MDCAT will be conducted in the second week of November.
