FBISE Announces To Conduct The Practical Exams At SSC And HSSC Levels

The federal board of intermediate and secondary education has announced to conduct the practical exams at the SSC and HSSC levels. Earlier it was stated that the board authorities will not hold the practical exams this year due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. The marks of the practical exams will be awarded to the students on the basis of their performance in the theoretical exams. The usual schedule of the current academic year got disrupted and the exams could not be commenced as expected in March. According to the new schedule, the annual exams of the matric and intermediate will be held in the month of May and June respectively.

The federal board of intermediate and secondary education took its Twitter and clarified that the board will hold the practical exams so the candidates are advised to be prepared for the exams. At the SSC level, the practical exams of computer science, arts and model drawing, and all technical subjects will be conducted. At the HSSC level, the candidates have to appear in the practical exams of computer science, library science, the outline of home economics, fine arts, and pre-home economics group. FBISE has taken this decision on the request of the stakeholders that demanded that apart from the theoretical exams the candidates should also take practical exams. 

Practical Exams

The officials of the federal board have also taken this decision due to the higher percentage weightage of the practical examinations in the subject. Moreover, it has been said that the practical exam paper will be designed according to the old paper pattern. Previously all the Punjab boards had declared that there is no need to there the practical notebook for the ongoing academic year. But after the announcement of the FBISE, it is expected that the Punjab boards might hold the practical exams for the students.
