Fatima Jinnah Women University Rawalpindi Hosts Event on Dukhtaran-e-Pakistan as Agents of Peace’


Two separate seminars with title of ‘Dukhtaran-e-Pakistan as Agents of Peace’ held at Fatima Jinnah Women University Rawalpindi. The speakers at the seminar discussed the role of women in maintaining peace and prosperity of society. They were of the view that women have a huge potential to develop society for long-term stability.
Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr Fahmida Mirza was invited at the seminar as a chief guest. While addressing to the attendants of seminar she said, ‘Big changes will happen if we can make sure that women play a key role in the design and implementation of peace building initiatives and give them a sense of confidence to execute’.
Dr. Fehmida Mirza said the main purpose of this event is to spread awareness about women empowerment. Empowering women can change dynamics of their households and communities which will eventually lead to build a more peaceful and tolerant society, she maintained. The event is government’s initiative and part of Paigham-e-Pakistan. It was organized by Assistant Professor Islamic Studies Dr Shahzadi Pakeeza and Assistant Professor Islamic Studies Dr Syed Aftab Alam.


A Seminar Organized at Government MAO College to Pay Homage to Mirza Ghalib on His 150th Death Anniversary
The Urdu Department of Government MAO College on Friday organized a seminar with title, ‘ Ghalib’ , to pay homage to Urdu language’s most influential, celebrated and prominent poet Mirza Ghalib. This seminar was organized on Mirza Ghalib’s 150th anniversary. The event was attended by famous poet Amjad Islam Amjad, writer Asghar Nadeem and academician Dr Zia-ul-Hassan.
Amjad Islam Amjad said Ghalib’s poetry spread the message of holiness and purity and the term “Ishq” in his poetry had not that meaning which society holds today. There are answers to questions and a person can understand the world If we could understand the true essence of his poetry, he said.


National Defence University (NDU) to Organize an International CPEC Workshop (ICPECW) from April 17 to May 3, 2019
The first phase of CPEC is ending completed by the end of 2019. The second phase includes programmes to ensure industrial collaboration focusing on development of Pakistan’s industrial sector, establishment of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Pakistan, producing opportunities for trade in Pakistan and bringing investments for production of new markets and products.
National Defence University (NDU) and Obortunity, Pakistan’s premier CPEC focused firm are going to organize an international CPEC Workshop (ICPECW) from April 17 to May 3, 2019. The workshops will be held at Beijing, Islamabad and Gwadar and offer international learning and networking platform on CPEC projects.
The participants of the workshop will strategize the CPEC projects and look for the ways to derive greatest economic and social benefits from it for the development of Pakistan and the region. The will formulate solutions and plan its implementation.


In the second phase involvement of private sector is necessary to build strong foundation of transport infrastructure, port of Gwadar and maximize electricity production.
