On Monday, Minister for Planning and Development Khusro Bakhtiar announced while giving briefing to the senate that the Government is planning to establish a university, medical college and a nursing school at Gwadar. While briefing the senate the Minister affirmed that his leadership’s top most priority is to secure the rights of people of Gwadar. He said that the government is working on its plan to equip youngsters of Gwadar with skills that will provide them employment. A number of infrastructural plans are underway in the city. The government has planned to set up vocational and training institutes in the city so that the employment opportunities brought through CPEC and BRI are reserved for the locals.

Amount of RS2 million has been allocated for the establishment of vocational and training institutes in Gwadar, he informed. He also said that the federal government is coordinating with provincial government of Baluchistan for development of education system. As part of this plan, HECD has started to provid scholarships to local students to study in national and international Universities.

Moreover, the Minister said that the federal government will ensure that the employment opportunities must be given to skilled and unskilled workers of Gwader city. He informed that 444 locals of Gwadar city have been provided jobs at Gwadar State way Express.

Sargodha University Signs MoU with Iranian University

The University of Sargodha has signed an MoU on Monday with International Institute for Iranian Studies (RASANAH), Saudi Arabia. Under this agreement, both the universities will collaborate in the field of research, teaching faculty will be shared, scholarships will be awarded and exchange of academic ideas will be assured. The MoU was signed on Monday, at University of Sargodha’s campus. The former Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan released a press statement on the occasion which reads, ‘It is really a homecoming for me after serving as ambassador to Lebanon till 2016 and retiring from diplomatic service since then. Throughout this time, I have always cherished the wonderful memories of my stay here, especially the lasting bonds with Pakistani friends.

The VC of UOS said this collaboration will result in major progress for both countries, he said, ‘The Department of Politics and International Relations as well as Pakistan Institute for China Studies at University of Sargodha would work closely with RASANAH to ensure demonstrable progress in each area of cooperation mentioned in the MoU’.

30 Chinese University Students Visit Pakistan’s Consulate General

Pakistan’s Consul General to Chengdu, Muhammad Mudassir Tipu briefed the students regarding Pakistan’s relation with South East China. These 30 students belonged to various top rated Universities of China. The CG briefed that establishment of strong academic, research, social and cultural ties between Pakistani and Chinese Universities, students and intelligentsia is vital.

The CG elaborated the students about the potential of Pakistan’s higher education students, he invited them to visit Pakistan and emphasized upon strengthening relations between the students of Pakistan and China. He said, ‘In next few years it is likely to generate economic activity worth trillions of dollars.

CPEC was a vital part of the BRI and has brought revolutionary changes in Pakistan. Chinese government is pursuing projects worth 62 billion dollars in Pakistan. Most of these projects are in energy and infrastructure sector.
