Educational institutes closed across the country as new security plan announced

Different educational institutes involving the schools and universities were closed on Wednesday crosswise the country for the insufficient security measures. Furthermore, a new security plan has been announced for the educational institutes.

Three universities of Lahore comprising of Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), University of Engineering and Technology (UET) as well as campus of Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) were closed till 31st January 2016. The educational institutes had also been advised to enhance their security measures.

The Multan campus of Bahauddin Zakariya University was also closed. Though, all the ongoing exams of 28^th January, 29^th January and 30^th January 2016 are also postponed because of the some security reasons in the University. The hostels of the University were also cleared and the search operation was also conducted. All the Army Public Schools (APSs) schools as well as colleges working under the supervision of Pakistan military forces in Karachi were closed on Wednesday due to the security reasons.

The schools as well as colleges working under the supervision of Pakistan military forces remain closed till 2^nd February 2016. After the incident of Bacha Khan University, the instructions have been given to tighten the security of all the educational institutes of the country. Furthermore, there has been a three level security plan formed for the educational institute. There would be high-level security provided to schools under Forces, mid-level security in missionary schools as well as the normal in government and private institutes.

For the time being, the walk-through gates have been installed on all the entrance gates of the Karachi University and there would be 8 feet high walls built round about the university. There is no police personnel posted on 80 percent schools of Karachi. 

It has been instructed to elevate the walls of schools in KPK as well as to put the barbed wires on them. In Lahore, as per the new security plan, 12 government schools, 131 boys’ colleges plus 19 women colleges as well as 19 universities have been put under the A+ security class. In Islamabad the managements of educational institution have been led to post security guards on the roofs.
