The federal minister for education and professional training, Shafqat Mahmood has announced that the meeting of the national command and operation Centre will be held on 6th April 2021 to decide about the extension in the closure of the educational institutes. The education minister took his Twitter and informed the students about the meeting. According to the issued statement, education provincial ministers and health ministers will participate in the meeting to review the ongoing situation of the coronavirus pandemic and to decide about the reopening or the further extension in the closure of the schools, colleges, and universities.
Commencement of Exams
The minister further added that by keeping in view the situation of the COVID-19 the education ministers will take the decision regarding the commencement of the exams for the academic session 2021. Earlier it had been announced that the annual exams of matric and intermediate will be conducted according to the issued schedule. The Punjab boards committee of chairpersons had also declared the date sheet for the SSC and HSSC annual exams 2021 so that the students can prepare for the exams accordingly. Now in the meeting of NCOC, the officials will also discuss the exam situation. Shafqat Mahmood stated that the final decision will be taken by considering the recommendations of the health and education authorities.

NCOC Meeting
Previously the meeting of the national command and operation Centre was held on 24th March in which it had been decided to shut down the educational institutes in the coronavirus hotspot areas till 11th April 2021 due to the third wave of coronavirus pandemic. According to the data reported by the health department, the third wave of COVID-19 is extremely contagious as compared to the previous ones. So in order to protect the students from the deadly virus, the educational institutes have been closed so that the risk of the spread of the coronavirus can be minimized.
