Today on November 5th, 2020 a final meeting was held in which all the education ministers throughout the country participated. During the meeting, it was decided that the schools and all other higher educational institutes in Punjab will remain open and will perform their duties according to the current schedules. Dr. Murad Ras through his official Twitter account reveals that all other circulating news regarding the closing of schools are fake. He further said that the Covid-19 situation is under control now. He addressed the school authorities to please follow the issued SOPs in the schools and other higher educational institutes to control the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
Why This Meeting Was Organized
Right from the beginning of November, the news was circulating in the media channels regarding the closing of the educational institutes. From some news channels and some social media platforms, it was revealed that due to smog and the increasing number of Coronavirus cases the government is deciding to close the schools and other higher educational institutes to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
However, the final meeting has shown that the schools and higher educational institutes are still under the safe zone and they should perform their duties according to the given schedules. Students, teachers, and parents are advised not to give attention to the fake circulating news. However, if any change in the circumstances will occur the education ministry will take the actions against the horrific situation of the pandemic.
