Lahore: The Islamic, Scientific, Educational, and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) has announced to present "ISESCO Prize in Science and Technology 2016" award to Prof Dr Ikramul Haq, the professor emeritus as well as the former vice chancellor of Government College University (GCU), Lahore.

The award is presented to the professor in recognition of his exceptional contributions in the field of science and technology, which includes certificate, gold medal as well as cash prize of almost $5,000.

Prof Ikramul Haq, the receiver of Sitara-i-Imtaiz as well as of two international awards, is also invited to Bamako, Republic of Mali, to receive the award at the "8th Islamic Conference of Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research" that is scheduled to be organized on November 14th, 2016 this year.

Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hassan Amir Shah congratulated Prof Dr Ikramul Haq on winning this prominent award.

Dr Haq is deliberated as one of the most prolific biotechnologists of Pakistan. He did his post doctorate from the Cornell University, New York, United States, as a Fulbright scholar.

He was announced the most productive scientist of Pakistan more than 3 times and best university teacher once in the last decade and has more than 300 national and international publications together with the five books to his credit.

He was the founder director of the Institute of Industrial Biotechnology at Government College University, and also served as dean Faculty of Science and Technology.
