DENGUE Seminar & Walk at Home Economics College

An Awareness walk and seminar for control of dengue was organized at Govt. College of Home Economics, Gulberg Lahore on 5^th August 2015.  Proincipal, Vice Principal, faculty members of Govt Home Economics College as well as the large number of students took part in this awareness walk. The main objective of this awareness walk was to create the awareness between the societies regarding this deadly disease. In this seminar, the participants distributed the awareness info about the harm disease. 

Principal Prof. Dr. Samia Kalsoom, Vice Principal Prof. Dr. Ambreen Sagheer and the respected faculty members of college were present there. Prof. Dr. Farkhanda Manzoor HOD of Zoology Department from Lahore College for Women University conveyed a very informative lecture regarding this disease to the participants of this seminar that was held yesterday. During her informative lecture she explained in detail that how we can control the dengue vector, and how we can eradicate the upbringing spots of dengue mosquito.

During her address she explained the four sorts of Dengue Controls that comprises of Natural, Biological, Chemical and Mechanical methods. She insisted the faculty of institute to become the real force through attentiveness and awareness.  Moreover, she emphasized on the control of different developmental stages of dengue from its eggs to larva and complete grown mosquitoes.

While conversing to the participants and distributing information about this disease she also suggest different precautionary measures against the dengue mosquitoes and emphasized on collective preventive measures against the dengue threat. She also emphasized the faculty members as well as students of university to certify the cleanliness of the campus and their homes.

Mrs. Lubna Faisal (MPA) was also present at the occasion and she also recommended that necessary measures should be taken to eradicate the threat of Dengue.  At the end of this awareness seminar the faculty was given dengue test. All the answer sheets together with Score were sent to the Directorate (Colleges) Lahore on August 5^th, 2015.
