Pak China Citizen Association, Founder and Chairman Zahid Qamar admired that China
will start a new PhD study programme for Pakistani students at a Beijing's University
from September next.
He said in the beginning, ten students are being invited on scholarships, to be
fully paid by the Chinese government. This is in accordance with the offer made
by the Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao during his recent visit to Pakistan.
He said that 20 more scholarships will be provided accordingly, during the next
two years. This is in addition to 65 fully-paid scholarships already being provided
to the Pakistani students by the Chinese Government.
The list of students who will take part in the new PhD programme has been finalized
by Ministry of Information Technology, Islamabad in consultation with Beijing
University of Post-Telecommunication. Duration of the programme will be three
to four years, covering various disciplines.
It has already been decided that about 200 to 300 Pakistani students will receive
higher education in the Chinese Universities on scholarships, to be paid by the
government of Pakistan. This progamme is also being started this year.
The duration of the different courses will be five years that includes one-year
study of Chinese language.
The Chinese Universities will facilitate the students in their stay, besides reducing
their tuition fee and other expenditures.
Zahid Qamar demand that Government of Pakistan and China to start others education
and information technology programs for the students and youth because they are
roots of friendship between to countries.
