MULTAN: Vice Chancellor, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Dr Tahir Amin said that in order to protect the future of BZU’s Lahore Campus students, the university administration will be offering one-time dispensation. The students who have completed the degree would be asked to appear in a comprehensive examination test that would be conducted by the university administration. Whereas the students who have been enrolled in the M.Phil and PhD programmes would be shifted to the main campus in Multan.
He also said that new admissions would not be offered until this issue would be solved. He further added that the affairs of university were in bad shape when he took the charge. According to the university act the Vice Chancellor could appoint anybody but he have decided to follow a rotation policy so that no one could victimize anybody.
He said that Dr Farooq Zain and Dr Fani had moved court against their removal tested his chancellorship too. He said that he asked for the Higher Education Commission to reestablish the assets and a meeting of the determination board granted 90 grants.
He said that students of distance learning were being moved to pertinent departments while the students of PhD and M.Phil would be requested to select any significant subject. He said that assets under the Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani grant program passed because of the flippant state of mind of the previous college administration.
He said that he was once again going to contact the authorities concerned for the restorations of remaining funds and the candidates from the subjects of social sciences would be given preference this time.
