Lahore: Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) has notified the aspirants of its Lahore campus to get registered in the main Multan campus because the sub-campus in Lahore has been declared illegal.

The enduring contention between the aspirants and the university looks to have come to an end after numerous protests were held by the students and assurances given by the government to protect the future of the students.

As per the higher education commission, almost 17 sub-campuses had been operating under government sector universities, mostly in Punjab.

The students have been instructed to attach a demand draft of Rs1, 000 in favour of BZU treasurer as the processing fee.

The varsity will administer the examination on December 22nd, 2016. Just those students will be accommodated whose data had been provided by the sub-campus.

The advisory says:


“The aspirants will be registered in a semester of the continuing programme/degrees as determined by Bahauddin Zakariya University based on the results submitted by every student.

Only those aspirants will be considered for registration whose record has already been provided by  the management of disputed BZU Lahore campus, under the Court Order dated August 31st, 2016”.

According to the record provided in acquiescence of court order, the passed out students are also instructed to get themselves registered till December 20th for onward processing of their special exams and the grant of degrees. The date of special exams will be announced on December 22nd, 2016.

In the meantime, some aspirants will be accommodated in Lahore by Higher Education Commission and the provincial higher education body (Higher Education Department).

Students of BS Technology and DPT will be lodged through the HEC and HED Punjab in relevant institutes of Lahore according to the information given by the representative of HEC in the 4/2016 meeting of the BZU, Multan Syndicate.
