BZU formulates body to decide fate of Lahore campus students

Multan: Bahauddin Zakariya University management has formulated a verification committee to inspect the complete academic record of its Lahore campus students along with an objective to secure the future of those aspirants who have passed their exams.

This decision was taken in a special meeting of the syndicate held organized on Saturday on the orders of Lahore High Court (LHC).

As per the official statement, the meeting supported the earlier decision of the syndicate in which the Lahore campus of BZU was declared illegal.

“Though, following the instructions of Lahore High Court, a verification committee has been formulated keeping in view the future of those students of Lahore campus who have passed their exams,” it stated.

The committee involves convener Dr Ayaz Muhammad Rana as well as its members include Professor Dr Younas Nadim, registrar, controller examinations, treasurer and also director academics.

Moreover, it stated that committee will verify all the record of students, including admission forms, registration forms, exams as well as others according to the university rules whereas a report in this respect will be submitted to the syndicate in its next meeting.

“But, it has also been assured that nobody or any institution will be permitted to get benefit in the light of this decision,” confirmed by the handout.

The syndicate has also approved the decisions of selection board relating to Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani Foreign PhD Scholarships and approved all the scholarships except those which have been challenged in the court.

The meeting appointed Dr Razia Shabana on BPS and rejected the petition of Best Law College, Arifwala, against the decision of university to terminate its affiliation.
