Islamabad: Large numbers of students are worried for their academic future after the Quaid-i-Azam University delayed the declaration of results of its graduate programmes.

Lots of universities have already closed their admissions for post-graduate programmes and the universities which are still offering programmes have refused to grant admissions to the aspirants who are still waiting for their BA and BSc exams results.

The aspirants as well as their parents have showed the concerns over the divergences and the absence of uniformity in the exams and in the admission system in the higher education sector which might end up costing them an academic year.

 “Actually Quaid-e-Azam University is playing along with the careers BA, BSc, BS students who are still waiting for their results which were organized in June 2017,” said a student of Federal Government College in Sector F-7/2 who did not wish to be named for fear of revenge.

“The admissions in Masters of Studies in all the varsities are closing before the mid of September. The aspirants have been running from their college to university however nobody is ready to listen them,” he added.

“The varsities granting admission reject to entertain provisional certificates from the colleges and are asking us to present the complete marks sheet along with the final result.”

“I wanted to take admissions in Arid Agriculture University in Rawalpindi or Faisalabad however they have rejected to entertain us without complete final year result,” said a BS (Honours) Home Economics student.

“Now I will have to wait for the complete next year to register in a university,” she cried.

At the same time, the officials of university said there has been no delay in announcing the results and the result is expected to be announced soon.

“Last year also the result was announced in first week of September,” explained the acting controller of examinations of QAU Aqeel Gillani.

“The aspirants who wished to register themselves in QAU or even at other varsities were accommodated by requesting admission officials or by issuing provisional certificates,” he said when he was asked regarding the issues students were facing in getting admission.
