Islamabad, Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has announced the result of Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Part-I Annual Examination, 2012 in which 49.87 percent candidates remained successful.

According to the declared result, 48,696 students submitted applications to appear in the examination, however, 48,095 took the exam and 23,985 students were declared successful. Likewise, 2,449 private and ex-candidates had appeared in the exam and of them 467 were decaled pass with the percentage of 19.07. The examination was started in April and concluded in June 2012.

In Pre-Engineering group 13176 students appeared, in which 10211were male students and 2969 were females. Out of which 7281 students passed the examination with the passing percentage of 55.27 and 5884 were declared fail.

In Pre-Medical group 9352 students appeared, in which 2411were male students and 7104 female students, out of which 6127 students passed the examination with the passing percentage of 65.24 and 3258 were announced fail.

In Science group 9530 students appeared in exam, out of which 5336 male students and 4194 female students took part. Over all 4825 students passed the examination with the passing percentage of 48.53 percent and 4903 were declared fail.

As many as 9904 students appeared in Humanities group, out of which there were 2252 male students and 7652 females. The total number of 3837 students passed the examination and 6053 were declared fail.

The result cards of the ex/private candidates have been sent on the addresses given by candidates in their admission forms while cards of external candidates have been sent to head of institutes from where they appeared.

During the exams, 27 unfair means cases were reported and all had been decided. A judicious process was taken to judge the cases and personal hearing was allowed to all concerned, the statement said.

BISE Federal (Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Islamabad) started performing as a supervisory body in FBISE Act 1975 is an independent body of Ministry of Education, is responsible for conducting matriculation and intermediate examinations within the dominion.

The areas under Federal board jurisdiction are Federal Board includes Islamabad Capital Territory, All over Pakistan (Cantonments and Garrisons), Federally Administered Northern Areas, and Overseas. FBISE conducts matric and inter examinations for the candidates belonging to the schools and colleges of these areas.
