Faisalabad Board was raised and got the status of authoritative body in 1988 to conduct the exams of Matriculation and Intermediate. Initially it was combined the Sargodha Board and after wards it was detached and got its distinction as Faisalabad Board. BISE Faisalabad Board contains the authority to organize and assemble the exams of SSC and HSSC, Language and other exams which can be under its authority or given by the Controlling Authority of Punjab Government.

Faisalabad Board has the responsibly to organize annual exams for the districts which are under its control and these are as Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Chiniot. For these districts the board holds the exams for school and college’s students.  A number of schools, institutes and college are affiliated with Faisalabad Board. On the bases of student’s performance, the boards also award prizes, certificates, scholarships and cash prizes to toppers of Matric and Intermediate students. Each year thousands of students get register with this board and appear in annual exams.
