There are total nine educational boards in Punjab which conducts the matric exams. The SSC final exams were held in March 2013 and after the duration of 3 months the board is going to announce the matric result 2013. All boards are responsible to organize exams in a fair, impartial and unbiased environment. The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Bahawalpur got the significance of an autonomous board in 1977 and in 1978 it conducted the exams of SSC and HSSC for the first time. Until now thousands of students have got their degrees through Bahawalpur board. The boards organizes exams for the regular students of schools, colleges and other institutions and as well as for the private candidates belonging to the areas of its jurisdiction. The board offers admission both for regular and private candidates and put up the admission forms and other related information on the board’s website. BISE Bahawalpur issues date sheet and roll number slips one month before the beginning of exams to the respective candidates.

Since its inauguration BISE Bahawalpur Board is conducting exams for the district Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar khan. Initially the board conducts the exams of SSC, HSSC and languages but afterwards in 1993 Bahawalpur board also got the responsibility to hold the exams of CT, OT, PTC and Craft and Art.
