Almost 27 Pakistani students have been awarded Australian scholarships for short courses on entrepreneurship in the energy security region.

These courses will assist in developing the abilities of the aspirants in innovation and entrepreneurship in the government & private sectors, and strengthen the energy security of Pakistan via cross-border collaboration.

The Australian high commissioner to Pakistan Margaret Adamson during an event organized for the scholars said that: Innovation and entrepreneurship are playing a vital role in economic growth and job creation in the country.

“We are really happy to support innovation trajectory of Pakistan through training in world-class business institute of Australia,” she said, adding, “the courses in energy management will assist Pakistan harness the energy and hydropower potential of the Himalayas to improve the energy security, regional cooperation as well as trade.”

The envoy furthermore said that some of the courses which the scholars will study have particularly focus on increasing the participation of women in the public and private zones to facilitate economic growth, an essential policy priority for Australia.

That’s why, she added, half of the awardees were women.

Australia has been offering the scholarships to Pakistan since 1991 and provides approximately 100 scholarships every year.
