Islamabad, The annual convocation 2013 at Jinnah Convention Center was organized at National University of Modern Languages (NUML) on Tuesday. At this occasion a large number of scholars, their parents and faculty members were present. 

Lieutenant General Raheel Sharif, Inspector General Training and Evaluation (senior member of Board of Governors NUML) chaired the convocation ceremony. Various renowned personalities like Members Board of Governors, Rector NUML Major General (R) Masood Hasan, Director General Brigadier Azam Jamal, and lecturers of other universities were also present at this occasion.

As many as 650 scholars got the degrees in different disciplines and among these 69 degrees were awarded to PhDs scholars, 17 MPhils, 564 Masters and Bachelors while 39 students got the award of Gold Medals.  The degrees have been awarded to students for the session 2011 to 2013 also completed the research work.

Lt Gen Raheel Sharif while speaking on the occasion said that research work should be promoted and all the nations have progressed because of research quality. He praised the efforts of Higher Education Commission for the enhancement of research culture in Pakistan and feel gratification that today Pakistani universities are among the top 250 universities of Asia and also have taken their place among the top 500 universities of the world, he added. While addressing the students the VC said that students are the main power of today’s world and they can only progress  by getting quality education and it will distinguish Pakistan’s name among the other countries of the world.
