Around 480 regular PU teachers get laptops

Lahore, Punjab University organized a laptop distribution ceremony at Undergraduate Study Centre and distributed 479 laptops among regular teachers under the scheme of Chief Minister.

PU Acting Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Liaqat Ali, President Academic Staff Association Prof Dr Ehsan Sharif, Secretary Javed Sami, MPA Khawaja Imran Nazir and a large number of teachers were also present on this occasion.

Dr Sharif and Mr Sami acknowledge the efforts of Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif in this regard for awarding laptops among teachers. A total of 479 laptops were awarded to regular PU teachers who are either engaged in MPhil of PhD or managing MPhil and PhD students.

The University of the Punjab was established in 1882 which is the largest and the oldest seat of higher learning in Pakistan. This was the first university established in the sub-continent in Muslim majority area. Two eminent laureates are from this University showed great significance for its academic and research excellence.

The university has a great importance for higher education and are playing its worth role in this regard. The University struggles to provide amusing environment to get excellence in its academic activities.

The University comprises of 4 Campuses, 13 Faculties, 10 Constituent Colleges, over 63 Departments, Centres, Institutes, and 500+ affiliated colleges. It has over 730 permanent faculty members involved in teaching/research and over 30,000 on campus students. Annually there are about 350 exams for over 450,000 students
