Islamabad, The laptop distribution program is being under way under Prime Minister’s Youth Program. So far a great number of students studying in public sector higher education institutes around the country have been awarded with laptops.

Bahria University Rector Shahid Iqbal gives out laptops to students
Recently the 300 brilliant students of Bahria University has been awarded with laptops. The purpose of scheme is to assist the youth to turn up their dreams into reality for the betterment of their future as well as country.
Rector Bahria University retired Vice Admiral Shahid Iqbal while addressing on the occasion acknowledged the Higher Education Commission and the efforts of government of Pakistan for launching this scheme. He admired the talented students who were eligible for the award.
Rector Shahid Iqbal said it is the duty of students to use these laptops to fulfill their desired objectives and exploit their skills for the progress of country in every filed.
“Shaihid Iqbal said getting laptops under this scheme isan honour and only talented students got this award andawardees must work hard to prove themselves that theyactually deserve these awards”
Before this ceremony around 140 postgraduate students got laptops and USB-internet devices.

Bahria University started its journey in the late nineteen-eighty’s Pakistan Navy established two educational institutes one in Karachi and Islamabad as Bahria Institute. These institutes were established for the education of naval personnel’s children. In 1997, the institute upgraded degree programs to 4 year BBA and BSC and MBA and MSc hich were introduced in Fall 1997 as 'evening programs' run under the management of two independent 'Institutes' one each at Karachi and Islamabad respectively. The institutes are known as Bahria Institute of Management and Computer Science "BIM&CS" suffixed with the location i.e. Karachi or Islamabad. The institute was given university status in February 2000 through a Presidential Ordinance.
